Thermische camera

Een thermische camera wordt gebruikt om warmtebeeldopnames te maken. Het werkt door infrarode straling te detecteren en te vertalen naar een beeld dat de temperatuurvariaties in een bepaald gebied weergeeft. Thermische camera’s kunnen op grote afstand en met uitzonderlijke nauwkeurigheid detectie uitvoeren. De camera ‘kijkt’ door rook, regen, mist, wolken en zonlicht heen en maakt het mogelijk om objecten te detecteren en te visualiseren zelfs als ze niet zichtbaar zijn voor het menselijk oog. Een thermische camera is in staat om in volledige duisternis te werken, omdat ze niet afhankelijk zijn van zichtbaar licht.  Dit maakt thermische camera’s ideaal voor beveiligingstoepassingen waarin nachtzicht essentieel is, zoals grensbewaking, terreinbeveiliging en het bewaken van afgelegen gebieden.
